Experience Matters …
JMS2-LLC is a fourth-generation family-owned company, with many decades of solid construction industry experience. The company was started during 1934 in Houston, Texas and was a market leader, building large-scale FHA & VA housing subdivisions. During 1964, the company was moved to southwest New Mexico and for 16 years, developed and built regional large-scale company townsites for Phelps Dodge Copper Corporation in Playas & Tyrone, New Mexico; and Morenci & Douglas, Arizona.
In 1980, the company moved to Arizona. The economy was booming and the company continued the family tradition of building tract and custom home subdivisions, apartments and commercial buildings as a multi-trade subcontractor and general contractor. As “we had always done our own work”, instead of subcontracting all trades to other companies, the decision to start our own subcontracting divisions was a good choice. In Arizona, the company subcontracted multiple trades on thousands of single-family homes and 100’s of multi-family projects from prominent national construction companies. Weary of “big city life”, the company was moved in 1997 to Oregon. Since that time the tradition continued, working regionally as a multi-trade subcontractor and locally as a general contractor. As a multi-trade subcontractor, we worked on 100’s of private projects, including multi-family complexes, apartments, assisted living facilities, hotels, commercial buildings, and large-scale tract home developments. General Contractor projects in Oregon include custom single-family homes and retail buildings.
Our belief is…
As high labor, material, land and financing costs result in tight profit margins, cutting corners has become general practice in the construction industry. Exceptions do exist and JMS2-LLC is proud to be among that elite group. We do it by watching overhead costs, 'kicking our own tires' and 'doing our own work'. One will always find us in the field during all phases of construction, quality checking whatever we build. By working closely with GC’s, project managers, superintendents, material suppliers, other subcontractors, and valued employees, our goal is to be a valuable asset for project construction teams, helping build the best possible product. Our efforts result in competitive proposals, quality workmanship, high production, and performance necessary to meet construction schedules.
Key words are “by doing our own work”. Again, instead of subcontracting every trade, our company has always been active in all trades except plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. From layout to final inspection, scopes for concrete, rough framing, drywall, metal framing, EIFS, painting, and window installs to always meet IBC standards. JMS2-LLC has done it all.
Today, our company employs multi-skilled workers, furnishing labor & material packages for the scopes we concentrate on. Our company is mobile, licensed-bonded-insured in multiple states, and has the necessary experience, manpower, equipment, wholesale supplier sources, and resources to handle any size or type of project.
Today and yesteryear, we have continued company values offering excellent workmanship, timely performance, competitive prices, and most importantly, a safe working environment for our valued employees. We take pride in our work and strive to be a construction team member on every project with owners, developers, investors, and general contractors.
